Mother's Day 2011

Sweet Peas

Sweet peas are my favorite flower, but I've heard that they really don't grow this far south. However, it seems like at least one variety will because I've seen some growing wild in our neighborhood. I'd like to harvest some seeds from them and see if I can plant them to climb along our front fence. Does anyone know how to best do this? Do I need to dry the flowers out and wait until next year, plant them this year?

In other news, when asked what I wanted for mother's day, I requested a full night's sleep. No luck on that, but Simon did have two long stretches last night, so we got two 3.5 hour blocks of sleep. Not too shabby :)
